Groundwater is the most abundant source of freshwater on Earth which fulfils approximately one-third of the freshwater demand around the globe. However, over-extraction, encroachment of recharge areas, and unmanaged land use is causing a gradual depletion of groundwater level and degradation of water quality. As such, CREEW carries out research projects on its own initiatives and in collaboration with partner, provides research grants and fellowship and conducts annual nation groundwater symposium focusing following domains of the groundwater.
